Ouch...

Wow. Tonight's class was hard. I am still pooped. Lots of kicks and kicks and kicks, ab work, back extensions, kicks, switches and it was difficult, but heady. I got into the zone and love it. I know I am addicted :)

I also did two episodes of Classical Stretch this morning to prepare for the workout, otherwise I tend to be tight. I totally believe that's why I'm not so stiff during class. It's my zen. My peace, but I push myself there too. I go to the ends and reach higher, then higher still. I feel my abs and the push or lift or pull to the next level.

Ahhhhh

Being consistent...

can be difficult, but I know it's the key to success in most everything. Eating is the worse for me. I simply like food too much, but I'm trying to log WHEN I eat, WHAT I eat, and how full I am after. Supposedly you are supposed to log something about your emotions connected with eating, but I rarely go "gosh I'm mad" and over or under eat, boredom is probably the only thing but I can replace that with reading or doing my nails (DID SHE SAY THAT? yes SHE did).

Anyway I've been consistent with working out..usually have been...since 1986 or so. Yesterday I did Classical Stretch/Essentrics Prechoreographed Workout No. 2. There is a HUGE difference in the quality of Miranda's televised workouts and the ones she has made for trainers. No there are TWO huge differences. First there are a lot more pointers so as a teacher of Essentrics you have tons of imagery and pointers for your clients. Second, the quality of lightening, sound track, etc. sucks. But the workouts are SO tough (if you do any hour long Essentrics program in my opinion at 110% all would be this way) it doesn't matter..you learn so much!

Today I should be attending TaeKwonDo so I just did about 45-50 minutes of workouts. I did two episodes from season 6, episode 609 Shoulder and Stress Relief. This is an all standing workout and really REALLY great if you have any problems with upper back or shoulder tension. I followed up with episode 612 Sculpt Your Legs which I love because it does the side lying floor series with elongation and when doing baby stretches and hamstrings--Miranda says move your leg around like a chicken wing you're about to cut off at the joint. She cracks me up.

But food is my enemy. I have decided the best thing is to keep it out of the house. I find while I love Kit Kats and Lay's BBQ Potato Chip...I don't love them enough to drive for them LOL. Fortunately the kids are not the kind of children who will "have" to have junk or bitch and moan--and my husband is all for it (of course he has lost 50 pounds in the last what four months so why would he?). Yogurt and fruit for sweets, as well as carrots, but damn baby carrots suck--tasteless even with salad dressing so real carrots. Pretzels will be my go to for salt though and I'm totally able to control quantities. No more junk diet sodas either...the real thing or nothing. The stuff in diet crap has scarred me since 1990 anyway.

Finding health and serenity in North Texas

My goals are to recreate my body from the inside out. Right now I'm using this as a check in because I don't tend to like to check in on forums and get advice from people who are not even doing the same exercise program I am.

I'm using Classical Stretch/Essentrics/The Esmonde technique. More information can be found at any of their websites just Bing or Google it.

Saturday I did three workouts from the TV show aired on PBS. They were Season 4 No. 10 Hip Flexiblity (23), then from CS608 Balance and Feet (22:15), and finally CS503 Posture 1 (24) minutes so about 70 minutes.

Sunday I did the prechoreographed workout No. 1. This is about 58-59 minutes and Sahra leads and teaches. It's part of the program set up for becoming an instructor. I don't know if I want to go the instructor route again, but it helps me to learn about all things involved in the Technique and therefore I can apply it to my workouts.

I'm also doing TaeKwonDo with my husband and youngest two children, but it is not clicking and I hope it does soon because it's fun, a challenge, and a fat burner!
